In situ neutron diffraction and crystal plasticity analysis on Q&P1180 steel during plastic deformation

Q&P1180 is a typical third generation of advanced high strength steel. In this paper, the microstructure evolution steel during uniaxial tension investigated comprehensively by using in situ neutron diffraction technique, electron backscatter (EBSD), scanning microscope (SEM) and elastic-visco-plastic self-consistent with phase transformation (EVPSC-PT) model. Tempered martensite (TM) determined as matrix based on SEM EBSD analysis. Tiny blocky retained austenite (RA) islands are distributed matrix, transformed into deformation. Effects stress-strain response, lattice strains, intensities texture discussed experiments EVPSC-PT The progressive from to orientation-dependent, ?{200} orientation has lowest stability, followed ?{220} ?{311} orientations. flow stress each straining shows that RA higher than TM, due its carbon content.
